Sail To Golden Gate June 7th 2026
It is going to be sunny and warm, but breezy day on the Bay.
I am going to be leaving at 8:30 AM from Coyote Point Marina.. Tides are with us in the morning and by noon it will help to speed us back home. By the time we get there tides will be coming in and will turn around and head back. The tide and the wind will help us get back to the Marina quickly.
The Marina is located near Highway 101 and 3 miles north of San Mateo bridge at Peninsula exit. MAP https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5848105,-122.3228741,16.29z?entry=ttu
To reach the Marina, from Northbound Highway 101 exit Peninsula Avenue in San Mateo and turn right or South at the first light. On the next light turn left. At the entrance booth, tell the attendant that you are ging sailing with a friend; you will not have to pay for parking. My slip number is 1253. If there is no attendant, just continue entering. Text me when you enter the park. Stay on the right side of the road until you see the Yacht Club. Turn left and stop at the arm gate. I will have to let you in.
Please bring soft bags or back packs and white bottom tennis shoes, sun glasses, coat, hat and food and drink for yourself. I have PFD (personal floatation device) for everyone.
There is room for 4. I will ask you for your experience and training on sailboats so I can get your help if I need to. If you have any physical limitations please let me know.
What to bring. Please leave alcohol behind. Boating and alcohol do not mix. Bring finger food for yourself and to share.
What not to bring: A friend, a child or a pet.
The sailboat is 1999 Catalina 36 MKII and has a head ( or toilet) and I will show you how to use it if you are not familiar with it. Feel free to view images on this website. Register on this site if you would like to sail with me in the future.
