Mark the center of the new hole to be drilled using a center punch.
Start with a small drill bit and gradually enlarge the hole with larger drill bits. Finally drill with a 1/4" drill bit.
Clean the entry hole with a 1/2" drill bit
Place the template on the base and insert the screws to test the fit.
